Montville

Montville has a true village charm, fusing wonderful cultural pursuits with spectacular natural wonders. First settled in 1887, it has grown into a thriving shopping village with a wonderful array of quality art galleries, stylish cafes and restaurants, gift shops and beautiful fashion stores, set in the picturesque surroundings of a shady tree-lined street with incredible views all the way down to the coast.

Don’t miss the thriving village with its quaint European architecture and unique character. Some might say Montville is the creative soul of the region with a myriad of art galleries, pottery studios, craft cottages, gift and antique shops, specialty shops and more.

Kondalilla Falls

Kondalilla Falls (80m) is one of the most spectacular and accessible falls on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

The walk down to the falls is ‘family friendly’ with some rock stairs and a maintained path. Great views of the rainforest valley from the natural rock pools at the top.

You can swim in the rock pools at both the top and bottom of the falls.

Kondalilla National Park

Just behind the Sunshine Coast, in the scenic Blackall Range, Kondalilla National Park is a cool mountain retreat. The park is named after the spectacular Kondalilla Falls, where Skene Creek drops 90m into a rainforest valley.

Kondalilla, an Aboriginal word meaning ‘rushing waters’, describes this park’s waterfall during the summer wet season.

Maleny

This unique rural community is perched high above the Sunshine Coast with amazing views to the Glasshouse Mountains in south-east Queensland.

Locals say the rolling green hills, deep pockets of rain forest and spectacular views in all directions is what makes Maleny so special.

Make sure you visit Gardners Falls & Maleny Cheese Factory while you’re there.

Mapleton

In Mapleton Forest Reserve and Mapleton Falls National Park, you’ll feel lost inside a land before time as you walk among lush piccabeen palm groves, grandiose bunya pines and tall blackbutt forests. This is a true paradise for hikers, mountain bikers and birdwatchers.
In fact, the highly-anticipated annual Blackall 100 ultra marathon winds its way through these rainforest trails.

When the hunger starts to bite, be sure to pop into Mapleton Public House, a local favourite for its paddock-to-plate goodness and seasonal menu, which is inspired by what’s flourishing in The Falls Farm (only 3km away!).
